New Technology to Improve Comfort During Mammograms
Women have long been counseled that receiving a yearly mammogram at their local hospital is the best way to detect breast cancer in its early stages. However, some women may delay getting a mammogram because they fear the discomfort it can sometimes cause. Now, Dutch researchers have developed a new device that can reduce the patient’s discomfort.
Watch this video to hear about this simple solution for mammography discomfort. The device fits over the plates that compress the breast and measures the pressure being exerted. This enables technicians to standardize pressure used for each mammogram.
